The challenge for me is to catch all of Alaskas game fish with an original fly of my own. Some of these are classics, some are original. Tying flies is a great winter pastime. As well as adding satisfaction to the fish you catch while fly fishing it’s a nice way to extend your fly fishing into the winter. I get great satisfaction from fooling a fish with a fly I tied, especially if it’s a fly I developed myself.
